Hello and welcome to the Choral Department at Woodbridge Sr. High School.  I'm glad you're a part of our program and am looking forward to working with you.  If you'd like to know more about me, I've pasted my published bio below:

Carol Ann Rethmel

is the choral director at Woodbridge Senior High School. Ms. Rethmel has her Bachelor of Music Education and Masters of Music in Conducting from Eastern New Mexico University [Honors Graduate]. Choirs under her direction have consistently received outstanding and superior ratings at District, Regional and State levels. Ms. Rethmel’s professional background includes performances with Wolf Trap Farm Park Opera Company, and was for several years a member of and featured soloist with the Paul Hill Chorale (more recently known as the Master Chorale of Washington – with whom she was again singing before they disbanded in 2010). Most recently, she has been invited to membership with the Choral Arts Society of Washington (CASW) and is once again actively performing.  She had been active on the concert stage throughout the East Coast area as a recitalist and featured soprano soloist for oratorios and symphonic performances singing under the direction of renowned conductors such as Julius Rudel and Sarah Caldwell. She has made two European concert tours. Ms. Rethmel continues to be active as an adjudicator and clinician. She has been listed numerous times in the Who’s Who of Americas Teachers and Who’s Who of Professional Women. Her professional affiliations are maintained nationally and locally with Virginia Music Educators Association (VMEA), NMMENC, Music Teachers National Association, the American Choral Directors Association (ACDA).
